We all got a chuckle when Juelz Santana fled the Newark Airport TSA in a cab rather than face up to the gun and drugs they found in his bag.
But the charges he's facing are no joke.
Today, federal prosecutors made public the two-count indictment against Santana, which a grand jury handed him on Monday. He's been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft. Juelz could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted on both counts.
He had initially been charged by both the Feds and Essex County, New Jersey, but Essex prosecutors said they would defer to the Feds.
In addition to the 38-caliber handgun, TSA found unprescribed oxycodone pills in a carry-on bag containing his identification. But he seems to escaped charges on the pills
