Joey Badass recently explained why being considered underrated isn't a bad thing. He spoke about it during an interview with Complex, during which he also talked about the kind of albums he hates.
The Brooklyn wordsmith said he refuses to listen to any album with a high number of songs on it. The topic of how long albums should be came up when Joey was talking about his own forthcoming LP.
“The thing with this project is everyone’s going to be satisfied, and not in a way where it’s too many things on the menu,” he said. “I’m definitely not that type. You come to my restaurant, motherf*cker, it’s like 10 options. I hate when motherf*ckers put out an album longer than 14 songs. Nobody wants to f*cking listen to that. “Nobody’s getting through that in a day. Granted, kids are a big part of this sh*t but bro, keep that sh*t. I don’t care if it was Michael Jackson. I am not listening to 25 songs. Less is more in my opinion.”
What do you think is the perfect number of songs for an album?
