Oftentimes when people are discussing who the best rapper is and it has to do with skills, not money, fame or chart positions, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole's name comes up.
Joey Bada$$ is someone who believes that Cole and Dot are today's best rappers and he named someone else, too: Himself.
The Brooklyn raised artist expressed that opinion on his new song “The Baddest,” featuring Diddy, off the Pro Era rhymer's new album 2000.
“N*ggas know who greater, f*ck your favorite, I’m the greatest / They never could degrade us and I did it with no major / I made a lane for n*ggas by going my own way / I paved the way for a lot of these rappers you see today/ So act like you know, bitch, I’ve been had the flow, penetrating souls / Who the best MCs? Kenny, Joey, and Cole / The holy trinity, it’s that nine-fives in affinity / Energy knowing when I’m gone and forever remember me," spit Joey, borrowing a line from Jay-Z's 1997 cut “Where I’m From."
Is he right to put himself up there with Kendrick and Cole?
