Joey Bada$$ Addresses His Injured Eyes

So it looks like Joey Bada$$ really did injure his eyes staring straight at the sun.

As has been widely reported, Joey tempted fate during the eclipse earlier this week.

Am I crazy for watching the eclipse today w no glasses? I've sungazed before and afterwards saw colors for a whole day. I didn't die tho

This ain't the first solar eclipse and I'm pretty sure our ancestors ain't have no fancy eyewear. Also pretty sure they ain't all go blind.

When he canceled three tour dates the next day, there was widespread speculation he had damaged his eyes.

Yesterday, Joey hinted that was, in fact, the case. Then he pretty much confirmed it today with a photo of the special protective glasses his doctor gave him.

Doc said I gotta keep these on in the daytime now.... a lil annoying but they're pretty fire

According to medical professionals, you often don't know you've damaged your eyes from staring at the sun until the next day. When there is damage, about half of the time it's permanent.

Let's hope Joey is in the good half.
