Joe Budden's an emotional guy with a dark streak.
Anyone who's really listened to his music or followed his second career as a podcaster, media personality and critic knows that.
During an appearance on the Grass Routes Podcast, Budden said that before the success of 'Pump It Up' there were a lot of suicidal thoughts and a few attempts at his own life.
"For me, there have been less than five times where I've actually attempted suicide," Budden revealed. "That wasn't in '03, '04, 'Pump it Up' was out then. But that didn't mean that the days weren't dark. That didn't mean that the suicidal thoughts weren't there. So those probably left, when I say '04, that's when I didn't really have those thoughts anymore."Later in the interview, Budden confirmed his rap days are over, as he's having too much fun being a part of the media.
"I'm having a blast. It's over. Y'all niggas think I'm rushing back to rhyme some syllables," he said.Watch Joe speak on suicide and his career below.
