Throughout the Drake-Joe Budden "beef" Drizzy hasn't been going out of his way to say Budden's name.
True, he sent him some clear subliminals in the French Montana track 'No Shopping.' But then French denied the song had anything to do with Joe.
But apparently Drake is much more cognizant of Budden in private, and has been DMing Budden on Instagram.
Budden detailed their cyber conversation on Cari Champion's ESPN podcast, Be Honest.
"[Drake] started off with 'I would like to formally invite you to one of my four Madison Square Garden shows, August 4th. You and however many people you’d like to bring,'" Budden said. "Then after that it said, ‘and I bet you can’t release 25 diss records between now and then.'"After a bit of back and forth, Drake told Budden that if he did get to 25 diss records, he would give him $10,000. Joe wasn't sure if Drake was being sincere, noticing the exclamation points, emoticons and LOLs.
That sounds like someone who's a gentleman. That sounds like someone who isn't really bothered by any of this. But it also sounds like someone who's attempting to insult someone," he explained. After more DMs, he concluded that Drake was mocking him.
Budden isn't releasing screenshots of the conversations at this point. But he seems to be reserving the right to.
Budden starts talking Drake's DM at about the 24 minute mark.
