Eminem had a little something for Joe Budden -- the only Slaughterhouse member not to appear on Music To Be Murdered By -- on the track "Lock It Up".
"Tryna save at Kroger (Yeah)
So why would I give a f*ck about backstabbin' Trader Joe for?
How 'bout that, I'm paid as Oprah
Think I may have broke the scale," he raps
Budden responded to that on his podcast.
"That's hurtful. That's not right. That's offensive. Trader Joe? I'm Joe. So you're telling me Joe is a traitor?" Budden wondered sarcastically. "Joe is not a traitor."
"It was an aggressive tone. He's saying, 'I only joke with friends and whatever you're doing, calling it a joke, I'm not your friend.' And I reply to that by saying, 'I wasn't joking.' Everybody has to do what's best for them. Everybody has to move the way that they see fit. The word 'traitor' is just a little misleading. I have no beef with Em. I have no problem with Em," Budden explained. "The only problem or issue I had with is how our business was set up. The end."
In an interview recorded shortly before Music To Be Murdered By dropped Budden explained that he would never return to Slaughterhouse as long as it's under Shady Records because he's no longer a "worker" and will only make music if he owns all of the rights.
That stance is likely what has Em labeling Budden a traitor.
