Joe Budden Explains How Kendrick Was Really Dissing Drake On 'Family Ties'

by HHL JT

Kendrick Lamar called Kanye's name on his new track "Family Ties."

"When I come up killin' everybody that's outside (Who you with?)
Yeah, Kanye changed his life
But me, I'm still an old school Gemini (Lil, bitch)
Let me jump in this bitch," Kendrick raps.

However, Joe Budden thinks the rapper Kendrick was really dissing was Drake.

He explains how and why:

"This is happening. Armageddon is here. Finally. It's time. Top can't save it. Punch can't save it. SZA can't save it. Keem can't save it. They have to collide. Especially if Lil Baby keeps hanging out with James Harden," Joe said of the upcoming Kendrick Drake battle.

"Who's in everybody's top five?" Joe Budden wonders, referencing the part of 'Family Ties' when Kendrick says he's 'smoking on your top five.'  "Are there five consistent names in everyone's top five? Or are there more like two and three consistent names? You know when Hov said, 'Who's the best emcee— Biggie, Jay-Z, or Nas?' He probably was really talking about a top five. He just didn't want to tell y'all nobody gives a f*ck about four and five in the top five. Nobody's going say that.

"You're falling for the consumer Kendrick trick. "And that trick is going to allow him to have a crutch, so when he's asked about it in interviews, he can give us that same bullsh*t that he gave us with 'Control': 'Oh, that's to whoever, take it how you want.' No, no, no, no, no, no," he said, adding that Kendrick only cares about Drake.

"Kendrick don't care about none of these n*ggas. It is a facade. It is a trick," Joe added.

Kendrick vs. Drake, who wins?
