Joe Budden left Everyday Struggle over money.
He broke down over exactly how much money that was during a chat with his old co-host DJ Akademiks.
First, he cleared up the misconception that he asked for a piece of Complex, explaining that he hadn't been at the media company early enough nor had Everyday Struggle been big enough to make that demand. Then he talked numbers.
"I went to work for $22,000 a month, $19,000 a month after I paid Ian. The next cycle, I wanted it to double. When my contract was over, I wanted $50,000 a month. And they came back and said something like $40,000. I said, 'Forty?'"
Complex wouldn't budge from their offer of 40K, so Joe walked.
Ak didn't believe that it was really just over 10K, but Joe insisted and claimed he had the receipts.
