Joe Budden Addresses Drake Diss Snippet

by HHL Editors

Yesterday, a snippet of a Drake x French Montana song seemed to suggest Drizzy was coming for Joe Budden, who had just used his podcast to criticize Drake's "uninspired" efforts on VIEWS.

Budden's initial Twitter reaction was to say he didn't think he was being dissed.

However, Budden later posted a discussion he was having with his pal Mal in which Mal tires to convince Budden a Drake verse is coming his way.

"It's 2016. There's no reason for any artist to start a verse with 'Pump, pump it up,' other than I got somethin' to say to you know who," Mal said, referring to the way Drake mimicked Budden's biggest hit 'Pump It Up' in the snippet

Budden still seemed skeptical.

In the second video, Budden continues to doubt there's a verse coming, and makes a funny comment about Drake's beef with Common.

"Last time we heard Drake and French on a song where they was dissin' somebody, that nigga died," said Budden, referring to Drake's Common targeting verse on 'Stay Schemin'. "Common ran back to the fucking 'Selma' so fast!"
At the end of the clip, Budden acknowledges that he may in fact soon be hearing something more from Drake. But if he does, he said he would take it as a compliment because it means he "inspired" Drake by criticizing his effort-level on VIEWS.
