Some people who think they're ardent music fans, really aren't in the true sense because they just like whatever song is hot at the moment.

Others, meanwhile, need to see creativity displayed in the music they listen to and want rappers to push the envelope with a high level of lyricism.

It's a topic that J.I.D discussed during an interview with the Throwing Fits podcast, and he explained what's changed in rap over the years.

The Atlanta rapper dropped his much celebrated album The Forever Story in August, which is chock full of mind blowing bars.

"Now, it’s so much of fast food and microwave. Everything is really quick, so it’s not really like rap. People don’t really care about it as much,” J.I.D explained. “Even as it’s grown in popularity, it’s moving super fast and I don’t think people really care about [lyrics]. I think it’s more about being viral or being the first  ... I got a weird theory about it, though."

Would you say that lyricism isn't important in Hip Hop anymore?
