James Harden Blames Media For Losing MVP To Giannis Antetokounmpo

by Daryl Nelson

James Harden said he lost the MVP to Giannis Antetokounmpo after the media created a certain narrative around the Milwaukee Bucks player. Harden was an unstoppable offensive force this past season but came in second behind Antetokounmpo in the MVP race.

“Once the media, they create a narrative about somebody from the beginning of the year, I think they just take that narrative and just run with it the entire year," said Harden during a recent interview. "I don’t want to get into details. All I can do is control what I can do, and I went out there and did what I was supposed to do at a high level. There’s only a few other seasons that anybody has ever done that before."

"People were tuned in to how many points I was going to score the next game,” he added. “It was a thing. But I can’t control that. The only thing I can control is coming back next year and being better than I was and winning a ‘chip.”

Do you think there's any truth to what Harden said?

James Harden is speaking facts 💯 The media creates a narrative and it’s natural for a casual fan to run with it. Harden got buckets and made basketball history and led his Rockets in the West to a place they had no business being in. Easy MVP. (🎥 @979thebox) pic.twitter.com/F1c2vOBZJ1
