While talking to Drew Barrymore last month, Jada Pinkett Smith said she'd never leave her husband Will Smith after they had a bunch of marital problems.
Now we know what saved the marriage. It was Will slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscar awards after he made a joke about Jada being bald.
"I nearly didn’t even attend the Oscars that year, but I’m glad I did. I call it the 'holy slap' now because so many positive things came after it," she told You Magazine. "That moment of the sh*t hitting the fan is when you see where you really are. After all those years trying to figure out if I would leave Will’s side, it took that slap for me to see I will never leave him. Who knows where our relationship would be if that hadn’t happened?"
Jada also gave more insight into her relationship with August Alsina, which happened during one of her and Will's marriage breaks.
"At the time of my entanglement, Will and I were not together but he just wasn’t ready for our split to be revealed," she explained. "The reason I addressed it was that the 'entanglee' had spoken about it and I wanted to confront that. It was my mess, and I took the bullet for it."
What's your reaction to Jada's interview?
For Will's part, he's been cozying up to a Jada clone.
