Jacquees has been flipping R&B hits for a minute now.
But his remix to Ella Mai's "Trip" -- which outperformed the original on some formats-- has been pulled from all platforms after a request from Ella Mai's camp.
Here's how Jacquees and Twitter are reacting:
Ella Mai trippin trippin, because I ain’t even heard her version of “Trip”. As far as I’m concerned that’s Jacquees song. pic.twitter.com/4QsxNpPnqi

That Jacquees remix made me like the song.

if ella mai really sued jacquees because of his remix she definitely lost a fan, that’s lame af because i bump both versions faithfully.

I understand the reasoning behind her record label suing Jacquees. But let’s be all the way real, they should’ve put that man on the official remix. His track already did fucking numbers through the media, shit would’ve been a big ass win for the both of them.

Ella Mai could’ve easily made an OFFICIAL remix WITH Jacquees instead of being a hating ass bitch

I forget that everyone isn’t in the industry so they don’t know things. Y’all know Ella Mai did not personally make Jacquees take down his “Trip” remix, right? She’s signed to a whole ass label. They do that with or without her permission.

Jacquees really snatched “Trip” from Ella Mai just like he did with “Persian Rugs” from PARTYNEXTDOOR

Jacquees snapped so hard on his “Trip” remix that Ella Mai’s team got it pulled from SoundCloud and YouTube 💀

Jacquees did a whole 2 mixtapes called Quemix where every some was a remix to somebodies song. And here he is working on Quemix Vol 3 and Ella Mai wanna get mad because his songs better then her original pic.twitter.com/HQYmi8tNJv

Jacquees's team also released this statement:
"For the new people who are just catching up to who Jacquees is as an artist, this has become very controversial for no reason," the statement begins. "We love Ella and are cool with her team as well. He has been releasing not only Quemix songs but entire projects with remixes of other artists’ songs ranging back to 2013. This was an act of genuine support and should not turn into negativity for either of the artist or from their supporters."
