J.I.D's new album The Forever Story is a brilliant piece of work, plain and simple.
A big, ambitious sounding album full of lush tracks and mind-blowing lyricism, the LP is easily in the running for album of the year along with Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
Some of the features on J.I.D's new album include 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def, and Lil Wayne.
Before the album dropped, J.I.D spoke about it with Ebro Darden and explained why he couldn't listen to his Wayne collab, "Just In Time."
"I can't even listen to it," said the Dreamville artist, who recently claimed that other rappers are afraid to work with him. "I'm waiting for the album to drop. I don't want to. I've heard it. I made it good to go through mix and mastering with it…But I don't want to hear it until the people hear it. Just because it's a big moment for me. It's an out of body thing. I don't even want to touch it just yet. I want to celebrate it with everybody else.”
