"If it's up, then it's up, then it's up, then it's stuck," goes the chorus of Cardi B's new track "Up."
It's a little unclear what that means. Cardi cleared it up on Jimmy Fallon last night and you may not want to know. [Jump to 2:30]
"[Offset] says that a lot," Cardi said of the phrase. "I don’t know if it’s a down south thing. After the song came out, I thought it was a Georgia thing, but then people were like, ‘We say that in New Orleans,’ ‘We say that in Florida.’ I’m like, ‘OK, man, listen. Alright I guess, whatever.’"
Then Fallon asked what it means.
"So, have you ever taken a poop, right, and it don’t come out? It’s just up and it’s stuck. Yeah."
Fallon was confused, explaining he thought it might you found success and now you are stuck on success.
“It’s a metaphorical quote,” Cardi explained.
