Rising New York artist Lil Keyu isn't happy that folks are comparing her to Tekashi 6ix9ine.
"I don’t like it. I hate it," she said when asked about the comp by AllHipHop.
However, the comp is going to be inevitable when you sound like this:
Keyu addressed her stylistic similarities to the incarcerated troll rapper and government worker.
"If you gonna say that, it’s like okay so 6ix9ine copied Waka Flaka. Waka Flaka had that yelling stage he went through. If you gonna say he copied Waka Flaka, then Waka Flocka copied one of these rock stars. Come on, why you saying that? I just feel like it’s ‘cause I’m from New York. I just feel like it should just be a genre, people shouldn’t make names and s##t like that.
The reason why these old heads and OGs are mad towards these youngins is because they actually do Hip Hop. What they do is Hip Hop, what we do isn’t really Hip Hop to me. It’s Hip Hop, but it’s mixed with something else.
Do you like Lil Keyu's genre-smashing sound?
