Now that her feud with Snoop Dogg has been thankfully put to rest, Iggy Azalea has moved on to social media sparring with her native country of Australia.
OK, not exactly. She's really just pissed at the Australian division of her record company, who she says sold an image to Maxim Australia without her permission, which the lad mag then used on their cover.
The photo in question was from a 2011 Complex shoot. Azalea took Twitter to air her grievances, and we've put all of her 140 character or less messages together in one giant quote because we're good like that:
"I'm going to publicly say something to the australian division of my record label right now because my message seems to be ignored privately. Stop giving permission on my behalf for magazines to purchase images of me that have already been printed in major publications for covers. Australian label, I love you guys but you allowed my image to be sold to cosmo Aus when I told you I would prefer for that not to happen. And now this morning I see you've allowed maxim australia to buy an image from a 2011 complex mag shoot and put it on the cover. I think its awesome anyone would want me on the cover of a magazine, but theres a right way to make that happen and the australian label clearly aren't respecting my wishes. A magazine cover deserves an accompanying photoshoot not a reused image."Maxim Australia has responded, saying they were denied access to Azalea for an interview or a new photo shoot. So far no word from her label.
Does Iggy have a legit gripe? And what do you think Snoop thinks of the three year old photo in question?
