35 States have legalized medical marijuana and 15 the recreational use of cannabis.
The Federal government may be next in decriminalizing weed.
Today, by a 228-164 vote, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act, essentially legalizing it.
The bill also authorized a 5 percent tax on marijuana that would be used to fund community and small business grant programs to help those most impacted by the criminalization of marijuana.
The bad news is that this particular bill has little chance of passing the United States Senate and becoming the law of the land.
However, the bill's margin of victory in the House suggests that there is room to negotiate another bill that could eventually pass the Senate.
