Hannibal Buress likes to tell it like it is.
He's the guy who took down Bill Cosby after all.
But he missed out on a chance to hit JAY-Z with an uncomfortable truth because of the crowd noise at the 40/40 Club.
Buress was recently in NYC to see his Chicago boy Vic Mensa. Mensa was partying at 40/40 and although Hannibal is more of a dive bar guy he went over to check him out.
He ended up having a good time, and at about 2 AM JAY-Z and Beyonce walk in. The royal couple posed for a photo with Mensa and Chance The Rapper. Since they were already posing, Hannibal figured he'd take out his phone and get his own shot. This did not please Hov.
“Jay Z’s pointing at me and he says, ‘Be cool,’” the comedian recalled.Buress was irked by JAY's demand.
“This is a situation where the club is too loud to say what you really want to say,” Buress said. “I wanted to be like, ‘Nah, I don’t’ want to be cool. This is a great picture. It’s two friends of mine from Chicago that are doing well; they’re hanging out with you—one of the biggest rappers in the world—and your wife—one of the biggest stars in the world … I’m not gonna be cool.’ “But I couldn’t say that because it was too loud,” Buress said. “It would’ve been weird to yell at Jay Z. I just took it.”You can check out Buress's tale, which is part of the new TBS show Storyville, below:
