Google And Apple Name Blue Slide Park After Mac Miller

Mac Miller named his debut album Blue Slide Park after a playground a couple of blocks away from Pittsburgh's  Taylor Allderdice High School, which he (and Wiz Khalifa) attended.

Now Apple's and Google's mapping apps have named the playground after Mac Miller.

Mac Miller died in September. Shortly after, there was an official petition to rename the park Mac Miller's Blue Slide Park, but that hadn't been resolved yet.

So it looks like the programmers took matters into their own hands.

Or perhaps it was just the algorithms.

Sometimes Apple Maps gets its location data from Yelp pages/places and since there’s a Yelp page made called “Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park” and since it’s only showing up on Apple Maps, I think that’s what happened here. 💙 https://t.co/YWQOD8Xs5R
