Former basketball player Glen "Big Baby" Davis was arrested at a Hampton Inn in Aberdeen, Maryland and charged with seven counts of drug possession and distribution.
The bust actually happened last month, after the hotel's owner called the cops because a marijuana smell was coming from Davis's room. But the details are just coming out today.
"They recovered 126 grams of marijuana,” said Aberdeen Police Lieutenant William Reiber, “In addition to that there was a brief case that contained 92,164 dollars of U.S. currency along with a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics."
For some reason, Davis had granted the police written consent to search the room. Aberdeen Police say it was during the booking process when it became apparent who Davis is in the sports world.
Davis had an eight-year NBA career, which was highlighted by being part of the 2008 NBA champion Boston Celtics.
The 32-year old made $34 million playing basketball. His lawyer maintains he's innocent.
