Georgia Politician Mark Jones Arrested For Rap Video

by HHL JT

Mark Jones is running for district attorney of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit in Columbus, Georgia.

In an effort to court the "urban" vote, Jones cut a music video in which local rapper JawGaBo spits bars about some of Jones's policies and makes light of Jones almost being Mike Jones's name twin.

“Freedom and legalize weed, the people’s DA who we need," JawGaBoi spit. "He on the ballot, he gon’ be preaching and talking about it. He ’bout that action. Who? Mark Jones.”

The DA wannabe is now facing four felony and two misdemeanors because his video shows cars making donuts in the Columbus Civic Center parking lot, allegedly damaging government property.

Jones, along with the two men in the cars, have turned themselves in.

Jones's lawyer says the charges are not warranted.

"I have been formally retained as counsel by local Columbus attorney and District Attorney Candidate Mark Jones. After closely examining the facts and evidence, it is clear that the charges involved in this case are FABRICATED. A false narrative is being pushed by some in the mainstream media and their friends in the legal community. It comes 13 days before the contested election for District Attorney of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit. Mr. Jones is being arrested and charged with FELONIES (allegedly) because a car in the Civic Center parking lot did some donuts AFTER the video shoot for a positive-message hip hop song that was created for the purpose of motivating younger people to engage in the Democratic process. DURING and AFTER the video shoot, there were MULTIPLE police cars directly across the street. The car doing donuts was very close by and within PLAIN VIEW of Columbus police officers. Police officers actually WITNESSED the car doing donuts and DIDN’T CARE. In fact, the City of Columbus has allowed “Car Club” people to use the massive Civic Center parking lot for this kind of thing for years and years. I took the picture (attached to this post ) in a part of the parking lot that WAS NOT related to the video shoot,"  Christopher Breault typed on Facebook.
