DaBaby claimed self-defense when he shot and killed 19-year-old Jaylin Craig in 2018 inside a North Carolina Walmart.
After the shooting, the "Suge" rapper said that Craig and another teen named Henry Douglas approached him, his ex Mariah Osborne, and their two children. DaBaby then said that Craig pulled out a firearm, so he grabbed his and shot in self-defense.
Evidently, prosecutors believed DaBaby, because he walked away from a murder charge and was given probation for carrying a concealed weapon.
But after Rolling Stone released footage of the incident, that claim is being called into question.

In the video, DaBaby was the aggressor in the incident and threw the first punch at Douglas, who had to get stitches afterward.
Craig's mother, LaWanda Horsley, told Rolling Stone that she believes DaBaby simply murdered her son and got away with it.
Since the footage was released, DaBaby responded to those doubting his self-defense claim and said that people are just trying to ruin him.
