The RZA and DJ Premier's Versuz battle over the weekend is said to have drawn 90,000 in a mere two minutes. Other IG live battles that have taken place since people have been quarantining include T-Pain vs. Lil Jon and Timbaland against Swizz Beatz.
2 Chainz has certainly been inspired by the battles and he talked about facing either Meek Mill or French Montana. But Chainz said he wouldn't battle people like Lil Wayne or Snoop Dogg because they have too many hits.
He also mentioned Fabolous, saying they wouldn't be a good match up because Fab has too many "girl records."
Fab responded to that when he spoke with The Breakfast Club on Monday. He said Chainz isn't supposed to pick who he faces but did seem to agree with him that they make different types of music. [Jump to 17:30 mark].
"I didn't like the 2 Chainz sh*t 'cause I feel like he was picking his battle a little bit, like, you can't pick your fights out," said Fab. "You pick who you think you might have even looked at their catalog, and measured yourself up with theirs. Then he was excluding people, like, 'Yeah, I wouldn't go against Lil Wayne.'"
"I don't even think that's my battle," he added. "I think it needs to be an even playing field. You can't just throw JAY-Z vs. Bow Wow... I think his music is in a different direction than my music."
Is Fab right that he and Chainz are in two entirely different rap categories?
