Fabolous stopped by Hot 97 to promote his new release Summertime Shootout 3, and he talked about his domestic abuse case that involved the mother of his children Emily B.
The Brooklyn rapper was arrested in March of 2018 after he was accused of hitting Emily. It was said he punched her in the face seven times and knocked out her two front teeth. A video surfaced that showed Fab aggressively approaching Emily and arguing with her father.
The couple quickly reunited. But New Jersey prosecutors still hit Fab with one count of domestic violence with significant bodily injury, two counts of threatening to kill and one count of possession of a weapon.
But Fab was able to strike a plea deal in March of this year that spared him jail time.
He speaks on the assault case for the first time at the 7:22 mark.
"We had to deal with it internally it wasn't about dealing with it publically," said Fab on Ebro in the Morning. "That's where I put my energy and focus into, dealing with it internally."
"Publicly, everybody is going to have their opinions," he added. "There are going to be some speculations, but the clarity that I was looking for was inside more than anything ... Looking at the video is different from being inside of it.. From the video point it looks crazy. I'm not trying to excuse myself, it was really more of, like, an internal thing with us going through the motion of what was happening."
The "Breathe" spitter then issued an apology.
"I apologize for coming across in the light I wouldn't want to be represented in," he said. "I don't know anything else. People make their opinions. All I can I do is apologize for being in a light that's not showing my best self."
What do you think about what Fab had to say?
