Most would probably agree that Erick Sermon deserves a lot of credit for all he's accomplished with this group EPMD.
But they may not agree with his theory that he help put Atlanta hip-hop on the map.
"David Banner said, 'Erick, do not let somebody else talk about Atlanta, Georgia and don't mention your name,'" said Sermon when he was a guest on the No Filter Podcast. "Now, people did [music] videos, but not downtown. I brung the cameras downtown. And I'm like, yo, what's the big deal? But to them, it was because why did you choose to come here out of all the places?"
Sermon said he owned a rim shop in Atlanta as well, and that's when rappers from all over started coming to the city, which helped the local Hip Hop scene get national attention.
What do you think about Sermon's theory?
