Eminem's Lose Yourself" Lawsuit Goes To New Zealand Supreme Court

by HHL JT

In 2017, a court in New Zealand ordered a local political party to pay $NZ600,000 (about $400K) for improperly parodying the rapper's Oscar-winning track "Lose Yourself" in a 2014 campaign ad.

The National Party appealed the ruling, and an appeals court dropped the payout to about $150,o00.

Eminem, who's been in New Zealand lately doing record-breaking shows, would rather have 400K. So last month he challenged the appeal up to New Zealand's Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court will now to decide if they will consider the case. If they feel it's in their jurisdiction, they could award Shady the larger amount.
