Before Eminem was famous, he had beef with fellow Detroit rappers Insane Clown Posse.
In an interview with Vlad TV, ICP explained that it started when Eminem came up to them and gave them a flyer promoting the record release party for 1997's The Slim Shady EP.
The duo, who hadn't heard of Eminem, where surprised to see that their names were on the flyer as invited guests. So they asked Eminem what was going on.
"I'm not saying you guys are going to be there, it says invited," Em said. "And I'm inviting you now."
That rubbed them the wrong way, especially when they heard he had a line that went "F*** ICP, buy my CD."
The bad feelings got worse when they remixed "Slim Shady" as "Slim Anus" which a radio host then ambushed Eminem with.
According to Violent J and Shaggy, the beef got a little out of hand and it made it hard for them to move in Detroit.
"All sorts of things happened between our camps," J said.
"Eminem pulled an empty pistol on one of our boys," Shaggy added.
Eminem's main man Proof eventually squashed the beef between the two camps, something J and Shaggy say they were very grateful for.
