Eminem declared war on Donald Trump last year.
According to his new track "The Ringer", his criticism of the President got him a visit from the secret service.
'Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service
To meet in person to see if I really think of hurtin' him
Or ask if I'm linked to terrorists
I said, "Only when it comes to ink and lyricists."
Eminem may be taking some artistic liberties here. But it's certainly possible he was visited by men in suits and earpieces because they are pretty aggressive about investigating all threats to the President.
Either way, he's not the first rapper to accuse the secret service of paying attention to him. Joey Bada$$ believes the secret service and the Feds started surveillance on him during the Obama administration after Malia Obama was pictured in a Pro Era shirt.
Back to Shady. While Eminem has nothing nice to say about Trump in "The Ringer", he does try to make up with his supporters.
But if I could go back I'd at least reword it
And say I empathize with the people this evil serpent
Sold the dream to that he's deserted
But I think it's workin'
These verses are makin' him a wee bit nervous
And he's too scurred to answer me with words
'Cause he knows that he will lyrically get murdered
But I know at least he's heard it
