If you were one of the record-setting number of Stans to catch one of Eminem's shows in Oceania last week, you probably noticed he's been wearing T-Shirts with (other people's) albums on them
He explained why, during his show in Wellington, New Zealand.
"You know, this was called the Rapture tour. But originally, it was going to be called the 'Rap Shirt' tour. I'ma tell you why," Em said. "There's a reason I do this, every single night on stage man. Hopefully, some of ya'll might go buy their albums. Might go look em' up. Maybe you don't know who Masta Ace was, or Kool G Rap. I feel like you need to know because what they did for hip-hop is so f-ing incredible because they made it go to that next level. These are the rappers that inspired me, man. On some real shit."
In the clip, Eminem's t-shirt features Masta Ace's Slaughterhouse album.
Em has long cited Masta Ace as one of his inspirations and featured him on his 2000 single"Hellbound", on which you can hear his influence on a young Shady.
