Eminem explained why he went at Tyler The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt on the song "Fall."
“I really did like them (Odd Future),” he said. “I thought their movement was really cool too. We didn’t make music, but I just felt like there was a mutual respect. A lot of the shit that ended up happening after that, like the tweet he put out talking about Shady XV. Like 'Okay man, you don’t have to like it and it could really suck .'"
Besides dissing the Shady XV compilation album, the Odd Future leader also criticized Em's song with Beyoncé "Walk On Water," and Em said he felt disrespected.
“I could come across as being very petty but at a certain point in time, someone has their breaking point,” he explained. “So when Tyler tweet that thing about ‘Walk On Water,' like ‘Ah, this fuckin’ song is horrible,’ I was like, ‘Alright, I need to say something now because this is fuckin’ stupid.' But at the same time, I’m not going to be America’s punching bag and muthafuckas just wanna think it’s cool and safe to say whatever they want about me."
Em then said that he might've gone too far by calling Tyler a "faggot" on "Fall."
“The word I called him on that song was one of things that I felt like, ‘This might be too far.’" he stated. "In my quest to hurt him, I realize I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it. At the time, I was so mad it was like whatever. It was one of the things that I kept going back to and saying ‘I don’t feel right with this.'”
This is the third installment of Em's interview with Sway. The first two were released earlier this week where he spoke about his new Kamikaze album, as well as his issues with MGK and Joe Budden.
Do you think Em went too far with his diss?
