While the person referred to as "Fake Drake" continues to hit up various night spots, the real Drake celebrated his 35th birthday on Sunday, October 24.
During the shindig, the Certified Lover Boy posted a photo of a Rolls-Royce Phantom that was given to him by his manager and DJ, Future The Prince. Drake said the Rolls holds a great deal of significance for him because he used to rent it for $5,000 before becoming a rap star.
“Back in 2007 we used to finesse this Rolls Royce Phantom rental to convince people in the city we were destined to make it,” Drake captioned the photo. “I used to scrape together 5k a month somehow to keep up appearances. We whipped this to Ottawa to see @belly and @cashxo and to Montreal for my first show ever. I used to pick up @ovoniko and roll every day or wait outside @nebzilla class for her. Park outside 15 Fort York while me and @ovo40 and @oliverelkhatib would be upstairs cooking what would eventually become So Far Gone.”
Drake also wrote that he doesn't "recommend" that people put themselves in a financial hole for "material things" but buying the Rolls was his way of "extreme manifesting."
What do you think about a rapper spending money to keep up appearances?
