DMX recently rejoined Def Jam after a 15-year hiatus from the label that made him famous.
His return is off to a rocky start.
The 48-year-old was supposed to headline Def Jam’s 35th-anniversary party at Villain in Brooklyn on Thursday. But he bailed at the last minute, leaving the label in a panic.
Luckily, two other middle-aged New York City rappers picked up the slack.
“He was literally MIA. Fabolous and Jadakiss saved the day in the eleventh hour,” an insider told Page Six.
Loso and Kiss played tracks such as “Breathe” and “We Gonna Make It” for the 750 guests.
Def Jam can't be too surprised by X's behavior. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
