Peezy was robbed and shot after winning a rap battle in Detroit.
The rapper born Phillip Glen-Earl Peaks was feeling pretty good after he took the $2000 prize late Saturday night.
However, things went wrong on the way home. Peezy pulled into a Warren, Michigan Citgo gas station at around 2:45 AM. As his passenger walked into the store, a gunman approached Peezy from the passenger's side and started shooting.
He was hit multiple times in the arm and torso.
“An unknown black male approached the passenger door, pointed a gun and demanded his money. He handed over the cash, which he had apparently received from his rapping. He was then shot multiple times," Warren Police commissioner Bill Dwyer explained.
Peezy is in stable condition and is cooperating with the investigation.
In 2016, he was indicted as part of a federal investigation into racketeering and murder charges involving the 6 Mile Chedda Grove gang. That case is still ongoing.
In the meantime, he's developed a big following in Detroit and on YouTube.
