For the last four years, you could pull up to Marcellus Cornwell's Detroit home and buy weed through a vending machine that was bolted to an exterior wall.
The machine took credit cards and Apple Pay and disguised its illicit merchandise as "souvenirs."
But the folks in Cornwell's neighborhood who wanted marijuana knew what that meant, and the 43-year-old was pulling in $2000 a day.
Unfortunately, a video of the machine hit the web.
Soon after he was busted by the Feds and the ATF. In addition to selling weed, he was selling guns. Although not through a vending machine.
The ATF admitted they were impressed with Cornwell's operation.
"Entrepreneurial at best," said a representative from the ATF. "Unfortunately both things were illegal...[If] you do this stuff inside a neighborhood, people are going to take notice and they're going to get mad."
When the feds raided Cornwell's home they found weed and 18 firearms. He's out on bond. He has six prior felony convictions.
