Before DeMarcus Cousins suffered a devastating Achilles injury in January, the New Orleans Pelicans were prepared to offer him a five-year max deal in the $175 million range.
But things have changed because of the severity of his injury, the team's success after he went out, and a limited number of teams with a need for Cousins and the cap space to offer him a max deal.
Now the Pelicans are rumored to only be offering the free agent 2 to 3 years at less than the max.
That talk has irked the volatile Cousins, and he unfollowed New Orleans on Instagram. In addition, started following Los Angeles Lakers Julius Randle and Isaiah Thomas, and presumed LA free agent target, Paul George.
When asked why he eliminated the Pelicans from his timeline, he said it's because he's "grown."
Do you think Cousins will be worth a max deal?
