There's long been talk that young rappers are forced to go through "industry rituals" to get record deals.
In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, Dee-1 says he was approached by a record company boss who wanted sexual favors.

"You got that moment truth when you realize that happening. I'm like, "Nay, I'm good," he explained of the encounter at a video shoot.
Later in the interview, Dee, who hails from New Orleans, called out someone from his hometown for blackballing him.
"There was somebody in New Orlands who I know for a fact who worked in the industry who was trying to blackball me because I wouldn't sign a deal with them," Dee said.
He had previously spoken about a deal with Cash Money that fell through.
