With Migos preparing to deliver their Culture 3 project in the near future, there's been a lot of talk about the group. It started when Takeoff said Migos is one of the best groups ever, with some agreeing with him and others not so much.
Then Offset said Migos totally changed the game and again, some backed his comment, while others say they couldn't disagree more.
David Banner has now jumped into the Migos debate while he was a guest on Hip Hop Uncensored Podcast, and he said the trio doesn't get enough credit. Banner was talking about many being influenced by Migos rapping in triplets, a style that was used in 1988 by Public Enemy's Chuck D and in 1993 by Memphis' DJ Paul and Lord Infamous.
“I watched the whole industry jack the Migos style and jack the way that they were rapping,” said Banner. “Then get on TV and act like they didn’t rip the boys’ whole style off. We can’t say, ‘Ay, those folks dope, bro?’ [then not acknowledge it publicly]."
Is Banner right?
