During Dave Chappelle's Netflix is a Joke show at the Hollywood Bowl last night he was attacked by an audience member.
The man rushed the stage and tackled Dave to the ground. He also pointed a gun at the comedian, although it was later revealed to be fake.
The rest of the audience had Dave's back and rushed the attacker, who fled. The mob caught the stage invader and beat him. Busta Rhymes and Jamie Foxx were among Chappelle's avengers and are said to have got punches in.
The man was injured and hospitalized. Chappelle was OK and joked about the incident.
"I don't know if that was part of the show. I grabbed the back of that n*ggas head, his hair was spongy, absorbent," Dave said, and then joked about Rhymes and Foxx's vigilante work.
Ironically, Chris Rock was at the show as one of Dave's special guests.
He hugged Chappelle and quipped "Was that Will Smith?"
“I’ve been doing this for 35 years…i just STUMPED a n*gga backstage..”Dave Chappelle https://t.co/WVZXOiAlNa

Just came out of the Hollywood Bowl where a man charged and tackled Dave Chapelle on stage and got his ass kicked by at least 10 people.
