Damar Hamlin Gets a Good Update From Doctors

by HHL JT

The bad news is that Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered a heart stoppage and collapsed during Monday Night Football, is still critically ill.

But the rest of the news is very good.  Hamlin is "making steady progress" has made "remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours", and appears to be "neurologically intact", according to his doctors.

The "neurologically intact" is key here.  There is always a concern that there will be brain damage when someone's heart stops, depriving the brain of oxygen.  But, so far, doctors don't believe this is the case with Hamlin.

Hamlin's lungs were damaged, but they have been healing.
