DaBaby caught serious flak for claiming that he bedded Megan Thee Stallion one day before Tory Lanez allegedly shot her in 2020.
The southern rapper made the claim on his song “Boogeyman" off his Baby On Baby 2 album.
"You play with me, that sh*t was childish / The day before she say that Tory Lanez shot her, I was f*cking on Megan Thee Stallion / Waited to say this sh*t on my next album / Hit it the day before too / But I kept it playa, I ain’t say nothing ’bout it," rhymed DaBaby.
He spoke about the song with Hot 97 on Tuesday, October 25 and doesn't care what people think about the line. [Head over to the 10:43-mark]
"The song been done, for real, for real, damn near going on a year,” DaBaby explained. “And when I say something, it’s gonna go out. It is what it is. Like I say a long time ago, keep me out the business ... It’s a song that’s out right now. N*ggas can take it how they wanna take it. I ain’t tripping, it’s a song that’s out. You wish I’d have left it off? Ain’t nothing to feel weird about. It ain’t happen to you ... Don’t turn the women’s empowerment sh*t on me because what you got going on with buddy."
In another part of the interview, DaBaby defended bringing Lanez out at Rolling Loud Miami in 2021 since the Canadian artist has been somewhat blackballed after the Megan shooting incident.
“I don’t look at it like a good or bad," said DaBaby. "I ain’t that invested into they business. Like I say, off the rip, I got a song with him, it’s doing good. I could care less.”
And there you have it, folks.
