DaBaby Explains Why He Didn't Give Those Candy-Selling Kids $200

by Daryl Nelson

A huge debate broke out earlier this week when DaBaby refused to give $200 to a couple of kids who were selling candy.

The youngsters had a box that held 34 pieces of candy in it, which they sold for $2 each. But they still wanted DaBaby to pay $200 for the box.

He talked about the incident during a recent interview with Complex and explained why he decided to school the kids.

“Anytime I buy something from somebody hustling like that like I buy the whole thing especially when its kids,” said DaBaby. “Give them the opportunity to just make it make sense why you want $200 for this? You tell me, ‘Man I usually charge somebody this for the whole box I’m just going to charge you $2 all the way down.’ I would have looked at them and gave them $1000, but I respect their hustle. I ain’t curse them out, this and that. I gave them knowledge and bought one piece of candy from each of them, then closed the door.”

Should DaBaby be commended for schooling the children or did he do something wrong for refusing to give them $200?
