The D.O.C. Gets Voice Back; To Perform In October

by HHL Editors

Interest in the D.O.C. is up, thanks to his portrayal in Straight Outta Compton.

The Dallas-born emcee is known for contributing lyrics to N.W.A., and for producing two albums for Dr. Dre. He probably would have had a pretty good career as a solo artist too, if not for a 1989 car accident that damaged his vocal chords and changed his voice.

About five years ago, D.O.C. found out that his vocal chords could be fixed through surgery, and has since been regaining his natural voice. He'll be performing on October 10 in Irvine, California alongside The Game, Schoolboy Q and others for the 'How The West Was Won' concert.

When asked when was the last time he'd been on a stage, this is how the D.O.C. responded:

Here's hoping the 47 year old can make up for lost time.
