Last month, during SXSW, state trooper Billy Spears posed for a photo with Snoop Dogg.
Spears was doing security for the Austin, Texas event, and it was a nice photo op -- especially given all the tension lately between the cops and the black community.
Snoop must have thought so too, because he posted the picture to his always active Instagram account with the caption "Me n my deputy dogg."
Well, that turned out to be bad news for Spears. Department of Public Safety and Transportation officials saw the photo, which is apparently a no-no because Snoop has had prior drug convictions.
"While working a secondary employment job, Trooper Spears took a photo with a public figure who has a well-known criminal background including numerous drug charges," reads his reprimand. "The public figure posted the photo on social media and it reflects poorly on the Agency.”Spears tried to argue that he didn't know Snoop had priors. But it didn't matter and he is now being forced to undergo "counselling" for his photographic transgression with a criminal type.
We can not even imagine what that type of counselling would consist of.
