Coolio was friends 2Pac through Treach.
In a new interview HipHopUncensored, Coolio spoke on how 2Pac changed during their friendship.
"Once he went to jail, the yput that rape charge on him, we found out he was broke ... it changed him. When he got with Death Row, he wasn't the same dude. He started smoking and drinking a lot. The sh*t that tripped me out is he started gangbanging. He started gangbanging in his mid-2os. He's from the Bay area, all the sudden he's claiming Piru. And he's actively gangbanging. That usually the time [people] get out of gangbanging. It was weird for me to talk to Pac after that. He became a different person. It was like I was talking to two different people in a two year span."
Coolio speculated he was acting that way to fit with Suge Knight and Death Row. He added that he tried to get Pac to dial it back, but Pac would dismiss him by saying "I'm a grown a$$ man."
Pac was killed at age 25 in what was likely a gang-related incident.
