Conway The Machine's business relationship with Eminem's Shady Records and his brother Westside Gunn's Griselda Records is no more.
The From King to a God rapper revealed the news on the Bootleg KevPodcast recently. The move comes despite Conway dropping his Shady Records debut, God Don’t Make Mistakes on February 25.
“Yeah, like sitting right here right now, I’m not on a contract with Griselda, Shady none of that sh*t no more,” said the Buffalo rhymer. “It’s free agency right now, you heard. I need that supermax, man. I need that Giannis bag.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Conway spoke about his love for Griselda and possibly returning to the label at some point.
"I put that sh*t on my back," he said about Griselda. "Me and bro built that. It’s definitely mine but I’m just saying as of right now, like, it’s the end. The paperwork I signed has been fulfilled. It was all in together, like, my Shady paperwork and Griselda paperwork, everything’s been fulfilled. And now it’s time to sit back at the round table and figure out what the future is and what it got in store for me.”
Are you surprised to hear that Conway won't be making music under the Shady, Griselda umbrella any more?
