Conway Clarifies Agreeing With Lord Jamar on Eminem

In 2019, Conway -- who was on Shady records -- made some news by dissing Eminem's notorious Stans.

"[They're] a bunch of nerds and Stans that don't understand me or relate to what I bring to the table," Conway told DJ Vlad at the time.

Last month, Conway apologized to Em in a Freestyle.

"Speaking of Shady, man, after my interview I did with Vlad I felt awful / But I learned you gotta watch what you say in interviews, it could cost you / One could say my relationship better with Ye than with Marshall, but I still ain’t got nothing bad to ever say about Marshall."

In a new interview with Vlad, Conway revisited his remarks about Eminem and explained that he was actually apologizing about something involving Em's long-time critic Lord Jamar.

"I said a lot of sh*t in that interview.  You know, I'm learning this as I go.  Sometimes I get caught up in being too honest and too real, and sometimes my sh*t gets taken the wrong way.  I didn't mean it like that, that I wasn't appreciative and thankful with everything that come with being next to Em.  That was a dream for me.  Saying it like that, it was just the frustration ... Eminem fans is different, man, they only want to hear Em.  They like, 'who is these guys. When is Em coming out.'  Read the comments, you'll see it yourself.  But actually, that line in the freestyle really wasn't referring to that comment [about the Stans.]

It was actually referring to what Lord Jamar on the joint, and I said what I said.  I seen headlines was like, 'Eminem's artist Conway agrees  with Lord Jamar on whatever he said [Eminem is a culture vulture who isn't respected on the streets].' I feel like I shouldn't have said because I definitely didn't mean it no heinous way.  I just was trying to paint a picture of how it was for me receiving Eminem's props.  When he came over, I thought it was the illest sh*t in the world.  Like the rest of the world thinks now.  I know all that sh*t front verse to back verse.  But a lot of dudes in the neighborhood wasn't as quickly receptive to it.  It wasn't for everybody.  I wish I never said that sh*t on the camera, I wasn't trying to sh*t on Eminem or nothing.  I think he's one of the best, if not the best. I disagree with Lord Jamar, for the record.  I was just trying to put it in context, and I maybe said some sh*t wrong. "
