Philadelphia singer Jaguar Wright had some coming to her defense after she accused Common of sexually assaulting her many years ago when they were in bed together.
Wright said the alleged assault happened after Common wanted to have sex with her and she wasn't in the mood.
"This n*gga trying to stick his d*ck in my mouth while I'm sleep," she said on IG Live in August. "Lonnie f*ckin' Lynn. Rashid. Common. Whatever the f*ck you wanna call yourself. That's why I stopped f*ckin' with him. Because n*gga, if you're going to try to stick your d*ck in my mouth while I'm sleep, there ain't nothing you won't do."
Common broke his silence on Wright's claim on Thursday while he was a guest on Philly's Rise and Grind Morning Show.
“God bless, Jaguar. I really don’t have any negative thoughts towards her,” said Common. “I was for surely disappointed and hurt when she said what she said about me because it wasn’t true. I know people that have experienced sexual assault and that’s not anything to just say if it’s not true. But I also understand that she may be going through some things that I don’t understand."
He continued: "As a society, we gotta do better with how we look at things and if somebody says something, we gotta really assess situations before we jump on them. I just felt more compassion for those who been through that, and I said God bless her and prayers to her ’cause I never had nothing but positive thoughts about Jaguar since we worked as musicians.”
