Colin Kaepernick Says He's Still Training To Play In The NFL

by Daryl Nelson

Colin Kaepernick hasn't played an NFL game since 2017, but at 36 years old he's still trying to get into the league.

He opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers after being criticized for kneeling during the National Anthem at games.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color,"the quarterback once said.

He's been trying to get back into the NFL for years but hasn't succeeded amid talk of a blackball.

🗣️ "We've just got to get one of these team owners to open up"

"We’re still training, still pushing," Kaepernick told Sky Sports. "So hopefully, we’ve just got to get one of these team owners to open up. I mean, it’s something I’ve trained my whole life for. So, to be able to step back on the field, I think that would be a major moment, a major accomplishment for me. Also, I think it's something that I could bring a lot to a team and help them win a championship."

Do you think Kaepernick will ever be an NFL quarterback again?
